Graduation Day August 2016

27 Aug 2016

As Hari Merdeka drew near, Methodist College Kuala Lumpur celebrated the advent of another chapter in the lives of its Class of 2016 A Level, CAT and ECE students on the 27th of August. Graduation Day was held in Dream Centre, Petaling Jaya, and MCKL had the privilege of hosting Guest of Honour Professor Robert Craik, Provost and CEO of Heriot-Watt University Malaysia.

Excellent results abounded this time around, with a 99.7% pass rate amongst the students, and 44% of the A Level students scored at least 3As in their June 2016 exams. In addition to the awards, university enrolments and external scholarships that have already been confirmed, Christina Chang Qian Ying and Catherine Mei Yan Bakewell were granted the MCKL Teaching Scholarship, whilst Khoo Wei Ning received the inaugural MCKL-HWUM Scholarship to study Actuarial Science in Heriot-Watt University Malaysia.

In addition to academic achievement, Graduation Day is also about celebrating the time that students and staff had spent together in the College. Representatives from the Student Council and ECE programme all gave encouraging speeches about their treasured experiences in The College and how the staff had helped them and their peers to grow socially and emotionally into the achievers that they are today.

MCKL adds another year to its role as The College of Excellence for Life, and we thank God for blessing our students with outstanding intellectual and co-curricular achievements, placing in Him our hope that He will continue to do so for many more years.
