KUALA LUMPUR, May 22 — Looking at Ali Mustafa Hamid today, you would never have guessed that he spent his early years in war-torn Iraq. Wearing a confident smile, this 20-year-old looks like any other student at Methodist College Kuala Lumpur (MCKL), where he scored 3A*s and 1A for his A-Levels. “Life was hard in Iraq. I was born in 1993 when the US imposed sanctions on my country. Then, there was the 2003 war and my family decided that it was too much so we finally decided to move to Malaysia,” said the well-groomed young man.

Note to Parents on Edexcel A-Level Reform (from the CEO's desk)

In view of the reforms to the Edexcel A-level examination in UK and its effect on International Centres, MCKL arranged for a Special Meeting for parents with two Asia Pacific representatives of the qualifications body on Monday, 22 April 2013. Bursary Pelajar Cemerlang 2012

Methodist College Kuala Lumpur has been selected by Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia (Ministry of Education) as one of its A-Level centres which Bursary Students can choose to enrol in. Thus students who qualify for the 2012 KPM Bursary programme may register with MCKL for the 1 July 2013 intake. As an added bonus, MCKL will be giving away an IPad* and RM100 MCKL Book Vouchers to all Bursary students who enrol for the 1 July 2013 intake.

The auditorium seats were filled enthusiastic students and proud parents and lecturers, all eagerly awaiting the moment when the College would officially declare this phase of the students’ academic lives complete.

AUSMAT Alumni Talk

It isn’t often that students of the Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) program get a chance to meet their seniors, as they are often done with their studies and have moved on even before the newcomers have begun. However, on this occasion, a group of AUSMAT alumni from 2011 decided to visit their former college, and were gracious enough to take the time to speak to the current students of 2013. Amongst the alumni were students who had scored outstanding results as well as scholarship winners, and all were already studying in universities in Malaysia and overseas.
