MCKL’s University Placement Service is a resource that students can use to help plan for their further studies in university. In the previous week, the staff held a session on studying abroad in order to prepare students for the measures that need to be taken to ensure that they will have the smoothest possible transition into the university of their choice.

Mooting Competition

When Heng Jean Anne, Desmond Yap Xue Zing and David Tan Wei Ern signed up for the Bond University High School Mooting Competition Kuala Lumpur 2014 on 28 June, they were only hoping to gain exposure and enhance their skills in the courtroom. What the three MCKL A Level Law students didn't expect was to emerge the runners-up amongst the seven competing teams.

Early Childhood Education Guest Lecture

On the 24th of April, the students and staff of the Early Childhood Education programme in MCKL had the privilege to receive a lecture from a distinguished academic in their field of study. Dr Lyn Trodd from the University of Hertfordshire had flown in from the UK to speak on the topic of Child Thinking, which is deemed a very important aspect of raising young children.

Volunteers from MCKL

Recently, a volunteer group of 27 Pre-U students from Methodist College Kuala Lumpur (MCKL), Brickfields had organised an Educational Day Trip for a group of underprivileged children from Tamil Methodist Learning Centre (TMLC). The trip itinerary included visits to Jadi Batek Gallery, a handicraft centre at Jalan Inai and recreational parks (hibiscus, orchid and deer parks) at Perdana Botanical Gardens Kuala Lumpur. The aim of the trip was to expose the children to different fields of knowledge and to broaden their views and experiences.

Bursary Pelajar Cemerlang 2013

Methodist College Kuala Lumpur has been selected by Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia (Ministry of Education) as one of its A-Level centres which Bursary Students can choose to enrol in. Thus students who qualify for the 2013 KPM Bursary programme may register with MCKL for the 1 July 2014 intake. As an added bonus, MCKL will be giving away an IPad* to all Bursary students who enrol for the 1 July 2014 intake.

OB Night 2014

This year’s Orientation Ball was held in the Palace of the Golden Horses on the 14th of March. After the arrival of guests, the event officially began at 7.00pm with a speech from the CEO of MCKL, Miss Moey Yoke Lai, thanking God for the many blessings showered upon the College and encouraging students and staff to uphold the standards and good name of MCKL.
