    Full Time

    15 months

The ACCA’s Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) qualification will provide you with a solid foundation in finance and accounting. You will learn all the necessary technical skills and knowledge required to perform an accounting-support role. Whether you wish to start a career in finance, gain recognition for the skills and experience you have, or want to move on to a more senior position in accountancy, the CAT qualification will help you towards your career goal.

The CAT qualification is internationally recognised and highly regarded. To achieve CAT status you will need to complete a set of examinations and one-year's practical experience in the workplace. The CAT qualification is flexible and allows you to study at your own pace and achieve a work-life balance that suits you. It usually takes one and a half years to complete the nine CAT exams. And after passing the CAT exams, you will be able to gain exemptions from the ACCA Qualification and be one step closer to professional status.

In addition, MCKL has Platinum level approval from ACCA as an approved learning partner, having met a range of challenges in performance, management and delivery of its Accounting courses.

Welcome Message from the Head of Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) and ACCA

Accountancy is an important part of every sector of modern society. Some school-leavers have a clear vision of a career in Accounting or Finance, preferring a pathway that is quick, affordable and academically focused in preparing them for their chosen field of expertise. To cater to such students, MCKL began offering the Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) programme in 2009 to provide them with a solid foundation in accounting and finance, as well as a fast track towards the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants (ACCA) programme.

To be in line with our college vision of “The College of Excellence for Life”, we are committed to produce good accountants with professional attitudes, ethical conduct and social responsibilities.

In addition to having a roster of dedicated and qualified lecturers with work experience in multinational companies and teaching experience in international degree programmes, MCKL is a Platinum Approved Learning Partner of ACCA, UK and the programme is fully accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). ACCA and CAT graduates will hold a qualification that is highly respected and sought after by employers worldwide.

Full time CAT and ACCA students will have access to an enjoyable campus experience in MCKL, with a green, spacious and conducive environment in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. A wide range of co-curricular activities and facilities are available to improve interpersonal and communication skills to complement academic rigour. Part time ACCA classes are also available to open new opportunities in career advancement and professional development for working adults.

MCKL offers a variety of generous scholarships to deserving students in the CAT and ACCA full time programmes. These may be based on academic or co-curricular achievements, and may range from a portion to the entirety of their tuition fees.

To all our students, we would like to wish you an exciting, fulfilling and challenging time with every success for the future.

Mr Calvin Wong Huey Neng,
