Early Childhood Education (ECE) has been gaining increased recognition of its importance by parents and educationists alike. Quality training programmes have been developed over the years to form knowledgeable and skilled early childhood educators.
The Diploma in Early Childhood Education programme covers five integral core knowledge areas which aim to provide comprehensive training to early childhood educators. Some of the ECE specialities that are covered in this programme are child development, creativity through music, movement, art and drama, language and literacy, health, safety and nutrition, infant and toddler care, as well as emotional, cognitive and language development in early childhood.
Upon completion of this programme, students will be fully equipped with theoretical knowledge, teaching pedagogies, practical skills and a holistic understanding of young children’s development, learning needs and growth. MCKL graduates will be able to seek employment in the ECE field as a qualified practitioner, or earn a globally recognised degree either in Ireland or U.K. with just an additional one year of studies abroad to support their career goals.

Substantial Practicum Exposure
Students will complete two practicums. They allow students to put classroom learning into practice and gain hands-on experience working alongside and learning from professional teachers in the industry.

*MPU Subjects: The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) requires all students to take Mata Pelajaran Umum (MPU)(i.e. General Studies) within the duration of their studies. MCKL establishes a series of subjects that different programmes need to implement for all students to meet the Ministry’s requirements. Subjects will differ depending on the institution and the level of studies of the student.
Top Up 1-2 Years for Degree Overseas
Students who graduate from MCKL with a Diploma in Early Childhood Education can opt to top up one to two years for a degree in Ireland, United Kingdom or New Zealand through our partner universities.
