The Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards, Malaysia

cambridgelearnersMethodist College Kuala Lumpur (MCKL) offers its congratulations to eight MCKL students with outstanding achievements in the November 2015 GCE A Level examinations who were honoured at the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards, Malaysia ceremony held on 21 April 2016 at Sunway College.


This recent tradition was initiated to recognize students in Malaysia who have done exceptionally well in the IGCSE and GCE A Level Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), earning them the title of ‘Top in the World’, ‘Top in Malaysia’, ‘Best Across’ and ‘High Achievement”, among others.

Top in the World awards were given to Tay Xuanken for A Level Mathematics, Melanie Lim Ee Ling for A Level Accounting, Yong Zheng Xin for AS Level Mathematics and Sue-Anne Tan Hsuyin for AS Level Psychology.

Top in Malaysia awards were secured by Chea Chia Ping for A Level Chinese and Wong Huey Teng for AS Level Literature in English. The High Achievement award went to Chia Yee Min for A Level Divinity and Shameera Nair Lin for A Level English Language.

“We are very proud of the students’ achievements. They worked hard and have achieved excellent results, which even the Cambridge International Examination Board has recognized”, said Ms Betsy Li, Director of Academic Studies (External Programmes), who attended the ceremony representing the College. “We hope they will continue to pursue excellence beyond their A Level studies.”

MCKL also wishes to congratulate students who performed outstandingly well in the June 2016 examinations. 99% of students passed, and 44% of students scored 3As or above. Full statistics can be found here.
