Graduation August 2015

22 Aug 2015

Methodist College Kuala Lumpur celebrated the graduation of its Class of 2015 students on the 22nd of August. It was held at the Wesley Legacy Centre, and MCKL had the privilege of hosting Guest of Honour Dr Lim Boon Hock, Member of the Methodist Council of Education.

Excellent results abounded in the A Levels, Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) and Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) programmes this year. A full 100% of the A Levels students passed the programme, with 36% scoring at least 3As and more than half of all Biology, Chemistry and Physics students scoring an A or A*. Khong Jia Ren received a Special Award from ACCA for the highest mark by a student in Malaysia for the FMM paper in December 2014 exams, whilst Clare Tan Yi Zhi, Elizabeth Tan Hsiu-Chin and Melissa Chew Li Mei received the MCKL Teaching Scholarship Award.

There is more to Graduation Day than academic achievement, though. Student representatives from the Student Council, ECE and CAT programme all gave encouraging speeches about their treasured experiences in The College and how the staff had helped them and their peers to grow socially and emotionally into the achievers that they are today.

As another year passes, MCKL adds another chapter to its 32-year history and tradition as The College of Excellence for Life. We thank God for blessing our students with outstanding intellectual and co-curricular achievements, and we hope that He will continue to do so for many more years.

List of outstanding graduates and special award winners can be found on our website here. They were also published in The Sun on the 21st of August on pages 11 and 40.
