Congratulations to our Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award Winners!

We did it again! Another round of 100% passing rate for Methodist College Kuala Lumpur’s Cambridge A-Level (CAL) programme. MCKL also want to congratulate our CAL achievers of fourteen Top in the World awards, one High Achievement award, and one Top in Malaysia award in the Cambridge examination series of November 2019. We would like to recognise our sixteen Outstanding Cambridge Learners Awards recipients below:

When asked for their "secret ingredient" to success, they have this to share:

Balance and Consistency. A balance between my studies and my leisure. A balance between my subjects. A-Levels is known for its intense curricular syllabus. On weekdays, I stayed up till 8 pm in the library to revise and prepare for exams. However, on weekends, I never get near books regardless of the reason. As a student taking four subjects, the balance between my study hours was crucial due to the lack of time. The constant tests in classes helped me determine which subjects I needed to focus on at that time. – Yasshootha a/p Supramaniam

I wouldn’t say I had any secret ingredient since I wasn’t sitting for the exam intending to achieve Top in the World. But since I did anyway, then I would say self-confidence and curiosity. Lecturers and lessons are helpful in the process of preparing for exams, but at the end of the day, it’s really up to you to succeed. – Janna Ng Qian Zi

We are especially grateful to Ms Lim Huey Kuin, the Head of Cambridge A Level Programme, for leading her team to success. We also want to acknowledge the dedicated lecturers who guided and supported these students. Our gratitude goes to Tan Chuan Leng, Chang Mun Wai, Aw Yeong Zhi Sheng, Wang Kah Lun, Lee Yew Wah, Samuel Lim Qi En, and Lim Keng Miao in the subject of mathematics; our lecturers Soong Jing Chyuan and Jennifer Stephen in the subject of computer science; our lecturer in psychology Tashmeerra A/P S.Mehanathan; our business lecturer Jennifer Chua Sook Kieng; our lecturers Low Ching Yean and Poh Kai Lin in the subject of economics; our chemistry lecturer Lim Jing Jye; and our divinity lecturer Yoshua Chua Song Leng.. It is by their commitment to genuine education that Methodist College KL can be an institution of excellence for life.

We congratulate our sixteen Outstanding Cambridge Learners for their November 2019 results, and extend our heartfelt congratulations to their families. In spite of the difficulties that learners and educators across the world are facing, we look forward to continuing the mission of educational and personal growth that our college stands for.
