This programme will fully equip students with the theoretical knowledge, teaching pedagogies, practical skills and holistic understanding of young children’s development, learning needs and growth. The programme covers various ECE specialities such as: child development, creativity through music, movement, art and drama, teaching mathematics and sciences to young children, language and literacy, health, safety and nutrition, infant and toddler care and teaching social studies to young children.
Upon completion of this programme, MCKL graduates will be offered other pathways to earn a globally recognised degree either in Ireland or U.K. with just an additional one of year study abroad to support their career goals. Graduates may also seek employment in the ECE field as a qualified practitioner.

Extensive Programme
The subjects offered in this programme are comprehensive and extensive to ensure students are well prepared to work professionally in a variety of professions in the early childhood sector and succeed in it.
Substantial Practicum Exposure
Over the course of the programme, students will complete two practicums. This opens the opportunity for students to translate classroom learning into practice, gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced kindergarten teachers, and learn in a professional working environment.

MCKL establishes a series of subjects that different programmes need to implement for all students to meet the Ministry’s requirements. Subjects will differ depending on the institution and the level of studies of the student.
